Biography

Mr Peters-Willke holds dual Neurosurical Fellowship qualification from Germany (MD) and  the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

He was born in Germany and completed his medical degree at Martin-Luther-University in Halle in 1996.

During his training, he worked in University Hospital in Halle (orthopaedics 1997- 1998).

He trained under the supervsion of Professor Hans-Joerg Meisel, BG Kliniken “Bergmannstrost” Halle, Germany to complete his Neurosurgical Specialist training in 2004. (Facharzt fuer Neurochirurgie).

In 2005, he migrated with his family to Australia. Since then he worked at the neurosurgical unit in Perth, WA under Professor N Knucky. He also worked under Professor M Murphy in St Vincents Hospital, Melbourne.

In 2009, he obtained his  Australian Neurosurgical Fellowship (FRACS).

He finally settled in Hobart in 2009.

Mr Peters-Willke enjoys exploring the latest technology and surgical techniques. He travels frequently to conferences and workshops here in Australia and has just returned from Europe where he met engineers at production sites of spinal implants.

Currently, he holds a Staff specialist appointment at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and is a Visiting Medical Officer at Calvary Private Hospital where he also has consulting rooms (contact details).
